As the first day of school approaches, some children might be hesitant about riding the bus to school, finding their classroom, meeting their teacher, and making new friends. To assist in alleviating these concerns, we would like to invite you and your child to participate in a practice “first-day” experience. The date of this event will be emailed out to registered families in early August.
During this practice “first day” of school, you and your child will have the opportunity to ride the bus, become more familiar with the school, and do an activity together.
Upon arriving at school for your practice “first day”, please park in the main parking lot and meet me and the 4K aides outside of the Activities Entrance (circle drive). This is where the 4K drop off/pick up location will be during the school year. You and your child will have the opportunity to take a short bus ride to experience what it will be like to ride the school bus. When we return, we will meet in the Cafetorium to participate in a fun classroom activity. At the conclusion, there will be time for you to ask any questions you may have.
There is bus transportation available to resident 4K students. There is no bus transportation available at the 11:10 a.m. morning class dismissal, or the 12:04 p.m. afternoon class arrival. The bus schedule is posted on your Skyward Family Access wall.
If you open enroll in our school, you are welcome and encouraged to participate in the practice “first day” to help your child feel more comfortable about their first day of school.
