Stage Crew:
Some students want to participate in the musical but are more comfortable backstage working behind the scenes. Mrs. Ellis heads up our stage crew and will be looking for volunteers in October.
Parent Volunteers:
It takes a village to produce a musical. Please watch for an email with volunteer opportunities in the coming weeks. There will be a variety of tasks both big and small for parents to get involved in.
Student Responsibilities:
(Attendance) As part of educational theater, all cast members are required to attend scheduled rehearsals unless there is an excused absence from school that day. Also, please do not schedule appointments during rehearsal times. We will do our very best to work around your other commitments. During Tech week (the week before the show and the week of the show)
All cast members are expected to be in attendance unless they are ill.
(School Work) We will be in close contact with classroom teachers to ensure that students are keeping up with their homework. Schoolwork is the priority. Musical rehearsals are not a valid excuse for incomplete homework.
(Conduct) As part of LCS registration, students and parents signed a code of conduct. Cast members are expected to adhere to code of conduct at rehearsals.
Cast List Posting:
The cast list will be posted to the musicals google classroom (your son/daughter will be invited to the classroom during the audition camp) by midnight on Friday September 15th. Please note, there is a $60 fee per student for participation in the musical, this fee goes toward paying for props, scenery, costumes, and makeup.
Rehearsals:
The first rehearsal is September 18th. The 1st rehearsal will be a rough read and sing through of the entire show. Students will get a schedule of the September rehearsals at this 1st rehearsal with October and November rehearsal schedules coming a few days later.
Musical Cell Phones/Electronic Communication Devices(ECD) policy:
ECD may be brought to school by a student but must remain in the student’s backpack and turned off until the end of rehearsals. Students are prohibited from using or possessing any electronic communication devices including, but not limited to, cell phones, I-Pads, Smart watches during costume calls and tech week, and productions. Cell phones are prohibited for student privacy and protection. During the musical, students are changing into costumes in various rooms throughout the school. If a student needs to use a phone, there is a desk phone in Mrs. Gonzalez’s room for student use. If a student is found using an electronic device or cell phone without permission, it will be confiscated and held in the office for the parent to pick up. If there are recurring offenses, the item will be confiscated and held in the office for parent pick-up, in addition to Administrative consequences.
Fee: $75.00
